All of this about "oh how many people really report their tips?" thing really gets to me, mainly because a lot of these establishments pool tips, and get weekly tip checks with their cut of the tip pool. THIS IS REPORTED, THIS IS TAXED. Enough of the "who reports what they earn in tips" bullshit. I'm not saying it's across the board by any means, but it does happen a lot more often then what everyone seems to assume. To respond to the comment by Spencer, what is the motivation for good service (aside from the love of making people happy I guess?) if it has no correlation to how hard a person works for you to make sure you are happy and well taken care of?
